Why arcade racers belong on phones
Realistic racing sims mostly feel wrong on a phone. Arcade racers like Neon Drift Rally feel right. The loose, drift-happy handling is forgiving enough for a thumb and a tilt.
The best mobile racers are built around rhythm. In Neon Drift Rally, chaining drifts into boost is the whole game, and nailing a clean lap is its own reward. No pit strategy, no tire wear, just flow.
Session length matters here more than anywhere. A race you can finish in ninety seconds is ideal for a queue or a coffee break. Longer, grindier racers tend to lose me on mobile.
My tip: ignore tilt steering if you want consistency. On-screen controls gave me far more precise drifts once I got used to them.
